capacitor question

I need to know does it matter if i put a capacitor thats rated for 12 farads on 3 jl 1000/1's. Is that over kill?

dont waste your money on a capacitor, get a HO alternator which will help you more then a capacitor

thanks for the input, i already have a 220 amp alternator from ohio generator, two red top optima batt. and the lights still go dim its not to bad when i'm riding but the voltage still goes down to about 11 volts when sitting still

and what the voltage at idle, no radio on?

If you were to get a cap, three smaller ones would be better then one large cap. They can recharge/discharge faster and more efficiently
