its cheap as hell and with it being so cheap you can afford more runsHeck, I only had 2 runs of + and 2 runs of ground for all my stuff I had. I was too broke to afford more wire. And the wire I had was Soundquest. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
I know but 2/0 will be fine and a whole lot cheaper. Im on a budget. Gotta get ready for next summer. Other things to do to my car besides the audio. Not going to be upgrading anymore anyway. Why does this chart say that 2/0 gauge can only carry 283amps? I thought most good 1/0 gauge wire was good for 300amps at 20ft. The chart on the welding supply website says its 2/0 gauge wire is good for 400/450amps at up to 50ft and its 1/0 gauge wire is good for 350amps at up to 50ft. Why the big discrepancy?2 runs of 1/0 will flow more curent then 1 run f 2/0http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm
Ok thanks. I was worried. 2/0 should be fine right? That chart is for household wire.
Wayyyy different.
Yeah your going to need it that amp is a beast to say the least.I have 2 power and 2 ground knu klmx to my 3 C&D 135AH batts in the back to run my D9hopefully tommorow it will all be done so if i am doing that on 2 runs of each you should be good.
Also if needed gonna add 2 more grounds to the frame in the back.
Ok thanks man.I did a 2/0 welding cable run (positive only) to my back rear batts, and a ground to the floor of the trunk. On 4000+ rms and a 110amp alt.... youll be fine
Nahwell i'm glad to see i'm not the only one using welding wire....by the way was it hard to find a good deal on an alt for your crown vic? i have a 92 grand marquis and i think they use the same alt...
