Hates distortion
I installed a Line Output Converter, but not the cheap ones, a more "premiume" one; a Maxxsonic MX-1.
From volume 0 (no sound) to as high as I wish to go I get a constant "hissing", also called white noise. This is a big let down because this is why I installed the LOC in the first place, to use RCA cables.
I unplugged my RCA cables, and the noise goes away.
I re-grounded my LOC to the headunit ground point, no better.
Is this normal for LOCs? JL Audio CleanSweep, AudioControl, Phoenix Gold... ?
There is no alterntor noise, winding noise, or any other crazzy noise. My grounds seem good, and they all read below .1 ohms.
My input level (into the LOC) is set at 7volts, only because I measured 7volts at the speaker-level inputs.
My output level (to my Alpine amp) is set at 4volts (the lowest setting), within my amplifiers sense range.
