Wire Info....

no thats what i was saying the straind diameter was the same while the jacket was thicker. It seems by the time you run multiple runs you could just get a good run of 0 gauge.
For $50 for 50ft. I dont see how. Id only need 1 roll. The runs only have to be 12.5ft each to reach where i want them to

Ok... So what do you recommend as bang for your buck 1/0 gauge wire because thats what im after. Im jjust looking for some i can get in bulk thats cheap. Im going to be doing 2 - 3 runs for power and ground. The runs are only going to be about 12.5 ft each.
Audiotechnix, or the classifieds. I see used 1/0 kca on here fairly often.

OP, all the car audio forums fill misleading information about wires. if it's not the brand they're nut-hugging, it's junk. the correct way would be to calculate your maximum amp draw from all electrical devices in your vehicle than multiply that number by 1.3. once you get that number get whatever wire you need to that number, whether it be 1 run of a good 0 gauge or 2 runs of a mid level 0 gauge. Everyone will say that Install Bay wire is junk, I use it on the regular and don't have issue b/c I use it within it's limits. last vehicle's max draw was 150 amps, I used one run of Install Bay 0 gauge b/c it's rated at 200 amps.

The IMC will be fine too. I believe it's true 1/0, true to size. It's not oversized. It's not gonna be crazy flexible. But with two runs of their CCA you have 500a of current support. I don't know how many runs you were thinking, but it'll work.

Personally, I'd spend a few dollars more, and get some top notch CCA like so: http://www.audiotechnix.com/component/virtuemart/10-ga-cca-power-wire/50-ft-10-ga-cca-black-powerwire-detail?Itemid=0

It's at most, a $20 price point difference. You get more flexibility out of the AT, and you get more current capacity. Those are the facts. Then my opinion of it is, I like Coleman and his products, and I'd rather spend a few dollars more supporting him. Also, he usually has a sale or a deal going on for CA.com members, he also may give you a little discount if you're going to be repping the product at shows and competitions and offer to do a good review on it. PM him and see what you can get.

But, if that $20 is a major deal to you, the Bullz or IMC will work. It's not going to deteriorate and turn to dust. Power will flow through it.

at least 2. 2 power front to back & 2 ground front to back. yea i just looked at a pic were is next to KNU and the IMC looked pretty decent. of the KNU was bigger but the IMC did not look under sized. so if 2 runs provides 500a(250ea) then i should be good with that. im not going to be producing that many amps anyway
