Winter's cold and speakers?

Do you think car speakers will be ok in the winter. Like at 30degrees, 5degrees, and below 0degrees? I know that the speakers inside the car can be ok when there warmed up by the heater, but what about the subwoofer in the trunk?

is it bad for your subs /amp when they are unconnected in your trunk when your car is outside while it is snowing/snow on car/cold?

itll be fine... just dont go blasting the second it turns on. let them warm themselves up a tad bit.

Yeah I figured that; I take those precautions in the winter with the my speakers. I also run my car at least a minute if it has been sitting for 3 hours or more (winter or summer); to get the oil circulated. How many people do that?

yeah i let it sit for a little bit, let the battery charge and stuff before i start blastin away.

You should do that regardless. And when you first start it up don't run it into gear, give 5 seconds or so for the transmission fluid to circulate.

i let fuel circulate, start car, small rev a couple times, and be on my merry way

The glue gets very brittle in the winter so be extremely careful not to crank it when you first turn it on.

no too bad up in northern IN eh.....haha

but i say..just let the car start....blast the heater and let the sub play for about 3 minutes or so at an audible level and away you go

3 minutes the guy before me is exactly right. Rule of thumb is three minutes.

It gets cold around january, I honestly doubt it's cold enough to damage the speakers, but I've always been cautious in the winter with my equipment.

I don't usually worry about it because my car sits in the garage all the time, so unless I'm out for a while the car doesn't get that cold.
