It does **** to be them. OTOH, Ireland doesn't resort to the efficiency measures that the US resorts to, so they can make up some ground there, but the quality of their dairy products will certainly suffer.

Not really...cheeses are moved around a good bit...and this wouldn't end there...I definitely see Canada moving in that direction...maybe even the U.S. if the wrong people are in office...

I don't necessarily mind moving in that direction, but has to be done in slow methodical way. Ireland just yanked the rug out from under farmers. IIRC Denmark did the same. Give them time to plan. There should be policy/plans in place to replace that protein source, etc. Maybe "they" want us all on high carb diets so we can all die from obesity.

I never said anything about slowing food production. I wouldn't mind transitioning our diets if there is a more sensible, efficient, etc way to feed the population.
