You got paid to play music. That makes you a professional musician. Having played music that someone might have captured on their phone, would you call yourself a "recording artist"?

A pizza delivery boy is not paid to drive. They are paid to deliver pizza. They can do this on a bike. Or walking. On a moped. A professional driver is paid to DRIVE. Do you see the distinction?

The old joke "I'm not a garbage man; I'm a sanitation engineer" applies to "I'm not a pizza delivery boy; I'm a professional driver". Like the doorman who "Provides private security". Puffery.
And I drove you dumb fu*k.

Just so you know dip shit, my professional title was "Delivery Driver". So you can go finish suucking off your neighbors cat.
For $9 an hour, providing your own vehicle, your own insurance, your own gas, with none of that reimbursed or stipended?
“Professional driver”. Well, I guess when I was 16 and worked at McDonalds for $5.50 an hour, I was a “professional cook”.

I had friends delivering pizza not only as high school kids but as a 2nd job at night even in their 30s/40s because of the money in the chicago area...Guess what on their tax forms they had to put professional driver due to insurance they had. Insurance companies consider that a professional driver and people who actually report it have higher insurance bills. They all did to cover themselves legally.

Fyi: in my home town on Route 66. You can make mad money delivering pizza from thurs-sun nights. Even back in the early '90s when I was in high school these guys were bringing home 150-250 a night in tips, sometimes yes obviously but weekends were always prime money for them. Heck a friend of mine still picks up 2-3 nights a week down there as it is like that every night now in that town. Working 4-5 hours and bringing home that kind of extra cash helps pay for his kids sports and gives him money for toys.

Yes, you were.

They compensated us for gas as well as wear and tear on the vehicle. None of that was needed for me to technically be a professional driver.

You are literally arguing against the definition of profession. You are amazing.
