@RobGMN in post #25,763 the discussion became what I would do. Nothing to do with Trump. From that point on for many post the discussion had nothing to do with Trump. You are saying it did... then why weren't you mentioning him? Were you trying to work some angle?
Ohhhhhh, you officially ended the Trump discussion and started a new one that orbited you by telling us your opinion of the court system and how it operates, and how you were improperly advised on how to be a juror.
Got it.
Regardless of whether it was purely about your feelings or about your feelings PLUS the Trump case, nothing I said would be any different.

Again, the rolling discussion was about the Trump hearing. You chimed in with your feelings about court processes, etc. The logical conclusion would be you were discussing it in the context of what everyone else was talking about.

That’s usually how an ongoing conversation works. And you have often expressed how you want conversation. I guess the Trump hearing conversation was not one of them

It clearly is a loophole since I can sell my privately owned firearms to anybody with no background check. That person could even be one of the illegals crossing the border right now, so they don’t even need to be a citizen whose rights are protected by the 2A.
That may be true in your jurisdiction but that would be dependent on the type of firearm...and im sure a lot more details to go over...illegals crossing the border have better access to weapons on that side that can be easily brought over...either way a violation of the law isn't a loophole...I can buy a firearm easily in just about any city off the streets with a pocket full of cash...where's the outcry against the "streetcorner loophole"?

There are plenty of regulations on firearms...the problem is there is no regulation that will stop bad people from doing bad things...this isn't an issue of the implement used...it's a broad issue that nobody will tackle...mental health, breakdown of societal norms, isolation from being plugged in all the time, lack of nuture for children...there's so much at play but everyone thinks it's the gun that at fault and further restricting access will fix it...it's like throwing paint on a crumbling house and calling it fixed...

Nothing you can do about the mentally ill. There will always be the mentally ill. What are you going to cross reference them against a list of gun owners and take their guns? Track if the crazy are making gun purchases? That's just crazy talk.

There is no "street corner loophole;" it's the same as any private firearms transaction - completely unregulated.

My first thought with the recent Texas shooting was “where were all the armed citizens who could shoot back?”
Actually in Texas I'm a little surprised. We went to Houston metro for my dtr's gymnastics meet. Whenever I'm in an unfamiliar city, I check crime maps before we go exploring. Interesting thing about Woodland/Spring TX, violent crime is nearly 100% gun violence; I assume violent encounters just escalate until somebody starts shooting.

The problem is the what's a disqualifying condition?...right now if you have insomnia and get a medical weed card you'll probably lose your rights...and only a small percentage of mentally ill people commit horrific acts of violence...

There's no silver bullet...banning the scary black gun is pointless...as long as criminals exist there will be an illegal marketplace for firearms whether law abiding citizens have them or not...and most likely the lack of guns will lead to an increase of handheld weapon attacks, chemical attacks (like throwing commonly used acids in the trades at people) or ied attacks...

You cannot stop bad people from doing bad things...you can make it easier to resist them and make easy target locations not so easy...

I got a kiddo in school too...if there was a magic fix that'd prevent her experiencing any of this I'd be all in...not only does that easy fix exists but I seriously doubt the politicians we have today would bother...they lose a campaign issue to "rally the base" with...

I've been part of many private sales...and outside of a bolt action .22...we've had to use the local ffl to actually facilitate the deal just to stay within the law...

The stoners have guns a plenty in Colorado.

The problem isn't what condition does or doesn't qualify. The problem is there is no way to do anything when we find somebody with a qualifying condition. And why is that? Ask the "gun control Republicans" who have actually done any and everything they can to deregulate.

Really Rob? You asked me a question. That was the start of OUR conversation. It wasn't about Trump. Why are you getting so bent out of shape?
The topic was women being *****. You threw up studies about why women don't report **** and .... do you really not remember these discussions???

You keep saying Republicans but I promise you that once something like that causes massive vote loss for dem...it won't be long til they're rallying against gun control...

21 states plus DC require background checks for private party handgun transfers.
Not sure how many require one for long guns.

We can certainly have a side conversation on your tangent, if you’d like.
But the way forums work is that anyone chiming in on a topic becomes part of the bigger conversation.
When any of us post, anyone else can comment. It’s not just a “you and me” discussion.

The topic was Trump going on trial for a **** accusation. Lots of comments and talking very specifically about the case, law surrounding it, the type of case it was, etc.
Maybe you joined a few pages after it got started and didn’t know it was the focus of the **** and lawsuits conversation.
