And yes, UNINVITED. There was a curfew in place and he chose to violate curfew and play cop UNINVITED.
With a curfew, you should not be outdoors unless INVITED, and you should not be traveling from another state to participate as law enforcement unless INVITED.

Agreed! Just the concept that law shouldn't be enforced or that law enforcement was wrong (especially when black criminals were involved) is a real blow to law enforcement. The fact that police interactions are now viewed thru the lens of the cops being the bad guys really doesn't help.

I would never be a cop in today's environment. Chances of making it to collect your pension seem low, chances of being fired are up, chances of being convicted of a crime while in the line of duty are up. It already took somebody willing to make some sacrifices to be a cop, now they've tipped the balance to make it even less appealing to point where there really isn't a (realistic) number you could offer me to do the job.
