will tuning my 18 too low make high end blow?

I love low notes, but I don't want to sacrifice the upper end bass. The biggest reason I want to tune low is because I'm eventually gonna throw some 8's in my doors to pick up the higher bass. But it's going to be several months before I can afford to throw up 800 dollars to put those 8s in.

so will tuning that 18 too low make my high notes sound like ***, basically.

Yes, your running the HDC3 right? Tune to 34.

to me the lowest i will go is 28hz.....but the highest i will go is 32

If i did tune to 28, where would I really start to notice the bass becoming quieter

That all depends on the sub. Odds are you will get roll off around mid/high 30s but it may get into the low 40s before the roll off gets huge.

do 6ft3+ and tune to 33-35 and you will be very very happy.

Yeah, I thinks I'll just stick with the 32 hz tune. I'll just rebuild the box when i get those midbass 8's in.

18" suboofers are made to basically only produce lows, your not going to get any mids or highs out of it. This is why i tell people to either get 12's or a few 10's best combination you will find. 18" and 15" only sound good if you throw in some 10's with it.

oh wow umm ignore this and if i was you i would do 7 cubes at 32hz my buddies hdc3 18 loved that
