I was replying to that... SIMPLY saying that if he got a 4 ohm woofer then there is ZERO way (hints the work impossible) to get a 8 ohm load. I was telling him that for his benefit.

Oops, my bad. For some reason, the forum hasn't been refreshing like it should for me. Those first couple of posts weren't showing when I posted the first time.

My apologies for the misunderstanding.

Anyway, the amp probably won't put out anywhere near rated power. I'd still pick up the 4 ohm sub to make sure that he's getting needed power. Better to have the gains turned down than to be pushing a cheap amp trying to get power out of it. Plus it will make later amp purchases cheaper because he won't need to buy such a big amp.

Dude, just get the 4 ohm version... bridge it on that amp and you will be fine... but promise me you won't go above 1/4 turn on the gain.

Just get the 4 ohm sub, bridge the amp, and geep the gains down some. All you have to do is wire the + sub terminal to the + terminal on one channel on the amp and the - sub terminal to the -terminal on the other amp channel.

Don't see why not. Correct volume and tuning. Sould be plenty of port area.

According to the specs, 1600w. However, I sincerely doubt that cheapo amp will come anywhere close to that. Just use the gain-setting tutorial here to set your gain for 600w at 4 ohms.
