Will this work?

Ok, I need to purchase all the wiring I need to hook up the 3 amps in my sig. I need to know if I am missing anything.

1/0 with 250 amp fuse from battery to unfused distibution block (do I need a fused distribution block?)

3 sections of 4 ga for the three amps coming from distro

1 12 ft RCA from sub amp to HU, and daisy chain the others

16 ga remote turn on lead coming from distro to 30 amp relay and then split to the three amps

3 sections of 4 ga going to unfused distribution block and then 1/0 going to ground (again, do I need a fused distribution block?)

Did I miss anything? I've never wired an amplifier before, and I don't want to order all this stuff only to find that I have forgotten something crucial...

you dont need a fused distribution box...but i would recommend one...iono but is a relay really needed...i would put one if other devices run dependently off the remote wire...why dont you get a xover instead of daisy chaining the amps...it would be better i guess...

oh...i trust you have wire for your subs and speakers...cause people sometimes over look the simplest things

an install sucks without beer.

I've been doing some searching and everyone seemed to say that if you are installing more than 2 amps, to get a relay.

What do you mean about the crossover? It's not OK to daisy chain the RCA's? Oh, and I will get wire for the speakers and everything, so that is being taken care of as well.

lol I'm 16...but maybe I can call in a couple of favors from some friends //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif j/k

Distrobution blocks have an input and however many outputs. If the input wire is larger than the output wire, it should definitely be fused.

Example. You have three Diamond D5 amplifiers. 300.2, 300.4, 600.2. Of those amplifiers, lets say you don't fuse the three wires that come from the distrobution block. I assume you will have a 0 gauge input, and three 4 gauge outputs to that distrobution block.

Now, 4 gauge wire is rated for 125amps or so. 0 gauge wire is rated for 350 amps or so. You'll have one fuse at the battery that is rated ~300 amps.

One of your amplifiers craps out on you. It is known that when an amplifier breaks, sometimes it draws a LOT of current due to internals arcing, creating a straight path from the positive terminal of the amplifier to the ground terminal of the amplifier. It pulls a current that is more than the current capacity of the 4 gauge wire, but less than the current capacity of the 0 gauge wire, and you, my friend, have an electrical fire.

The ground block does not need to be fused because it is a smaller input wire to a larger output wire.

OK, so should the one at the battery and the one at the distro have the same rating?

**** YOUHAVE A ME 15!?!?!?!?!? Man you have to tell me how thatsounds
Not yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif . But I will be ordering it as soon as I get the money (~2 weeks). I'll be sure to let you know how it sounds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i was drunk by the end of my first HU install. but then i had to pull over one day when i was on the highway to take out my HU and retape some wires cause they were touching.

you would get cleaner frequency response if you use a crossover...bass goin to the subs treble goin to tweets and voice goin to the mids...if you use the daisy chain there is a good chance that mids would go to the highs, voice may come out the sub, treble through the tweets...that sort of thing
Oh, well my 8454 has a built-in crossover that I was going to use.
