Will this work? (Need help!)

Ok so I plan on getting Image Dynamics IDQ12V3.D4 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6225 for my sub and for now i can only afford one but later on i want to get 2 without having to change amps so i was looking at this amp Hifonics BXi1608D http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6639 and i was going to wire it to 2 ohms until i get the 2nd sub and wire it to 1 ohm. Will this work or will i be overpowering the sub? Sorry, bare with me im still a car audio nub

ya you should be fine just like wild said watch your gains and make sure your not sending alot of distortion to it. also make sure the enclosure is properly designed.
