ok first this is not my wiring diagram. i dont think it will work like this but i figured i would ask

the kid has 3 l5's they are dual 4's he wants to run them down to 1 ohm and put them on 2 memphis st1000ds here is the diagram

????will it work????

what do you guys suggest as far as wiring???

Looks to be the same as if you were putting 1 amp on each coil. Is that the idea behind it?

i assume what hes tryin to do is wire the voice coils to the amp as single 4 ohm vc so that each amp sees 1.34

Thats what i see, i dont see a problem with it. Like i said, its similar to using 2 amps on a DVC sub.

thats what i came up with borrowed from rockford and tweaked a lil

so this will work or would it be better just to get one big amp thats 1 ohm stable and wire them down to .67 ohm????

1 ohm amp would be less wiring,i.e. expense, probably save space too. Also if one amp goes out in that set-up it could damage the speakers.

You could try running one of the amps and if its not enough, sell both and get 1 2000-3000w amp.
