Will this still sound decent?

Just got an old school VGA320.4 amp.. brand new though.

My sound guy recommended it to me to power my two 15" kicker cvx subs DVC 4ohm (1000 rms each) in a sealed fiberglass enclosure... but i'm thinking he forgot how powerful these subs are (what theyre rated for).

I had a 1300 or 1400w soundstream powering them before.. and it whacked. But that thing melted completely... was wired down to 1 ohm.

I'm thinking its not smart to wire this new one down to 1ohm since its a 4 channel.. what do you think?

the specs are:

4 X 80 RMS 4 Ohm

4 X 160 RMS 2 Ohm

2 X 320 RMS 4 Ohm

is it possible to wire this to 2 x something at 2 ohms? and will this be nearly enough power for them? This is before soundstream got bought out and it's a handcrafted amp from the good ol' days

thanks!

That amp is not 1ohm stable. The best that amp can do is 320x2 bridged @ 4ohm. It is not stable @ 2ohm bridged so that amp is not a good choice for what you intend to use it for sorry. Plus it’s an a/b class which will **** some good juice. That amp cant provide enough power for even one of your speakers much less. two.

Are you trolling or being serious? You should know the answer to this topic, your subs are 2000 watts RMS and you're asking about a 300 watt amp, it's just basic logic to know that amp won't be enough to power those subs.
