Will this sound like ***?

I've got two Infinity 1230 reference Subs that are in a 1.25 (per sub) cubic foot box right now and am wondering if I were to just put some ports in that box if it would sound like *** or not. according to Infinity they recommend a 2 cubic foot box for ported tuned at 30 hz. there's a place nearby selling 2 1/8 *5 inch ports for 2 bucks a shot.

From my personal experience with Infinity, they are better used Sealed. Thats just the kind of sound they produce, they are built for tight accurate sound. Although ported can be built to sound just as well. Still Infinity stuff is really not good ported from ones I have heard.

yeah, it will not sound good. i'd keep them sealed, but if you must go ported get a custom box, just be aware that to get 4 ft^3 tuned to 30 Hz with a decent amount of port area, the gross volume of the box will end up being A LOT more than your current sealed box.
