thats the only face it can exit on....as I said earlier in the thread all of the other faces are too close to the walls or lid of the trunk...cancelation would be a b1tch, shit even the sub is only about 5 inches from the deck lid.

if you cut the port to 2" you can make a straight shot, but that'll throw off the volume a little and the tuning.

Im hell bent on keeping the port 2.5...Ive got about as much MDF as home depot at my house...Ill build this box and see how it sounds...if it sounds like shit....oh well Ill try another one.

I made an enclosure with a port that fired on the side.

It sounds fine.

I dont like the port exit all that much. IMO a 90 degree bend then the port opening directly to the outside isnt really that good looking when you look into the box, and there MAY be a bit more noise with the bend so close to the opening.

I would personally build it more like this:
