weird, sounds like whining.
im also suprised you couldnt identify a rhetorical question (or it was a good cover of your own idiocracy)
I'm surprised you can't identify sarcasm anymore than i can identify a rhetorical question over the internet. So I guess we are even //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I find it even more surprising that you can "hear" whining over the net. Good ears:wow:

indeed wow...

Are you ****ing kidding me?

8 pages of BS to determine the aircraft won't lift off?

its common sense, no air no lift...no take off...

Jesus christ, maybe this forum should discuss the theory of turbine engines...

****, Squeeze, Bang & Blow... might interest some of these pathetic minds...

OK with this attitude, I suggest everyone proceed with the idiot comments.

If you have a degree in this filed, god help us when we get on an airplane.

i think we are having the same sarcasm detection malfunction, i was being sarcastic as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . but i do take care of my ears.

your degree should be revoked. seriously. if you have that degree and still dont know how airplanes transfer force, its clear that anyone can get that mail order degree.

My Degree has provided me a job that involves my abilities in repairing aircraft equipment...I'm in MX...not engineering.

But I do know the systems, how they operate and what can be done on a modern commerical level...

There are only two things you really need to know about this question:

1. The mechanism through which motion in a forward direction is created by an airplane's force.

2. Newton's second law of motion.

I don't understand how there is so much confusion.

Well somewhere along your "know the systems, how they operate" you missed something vital. I suggest you go back and read up.

Nothing we discussed in this thread has even related to Navigation, Communication or IFE systems...

Its simple as said before, the wheels are free spinning just braking systems attached to the trucks...

I think we have two arguments going on here.

The people saying that everyone here are idiots are looking at it one way, while others who say it won't take off are looking at it another way.

Squeak, tama, njizzum, etc. are looking at it like this: The plane is able to move forward on the treadmill because the wheels aren't driven. The plane can move forward relative to the GROUND, generate enough air speed (and thus lift) and take off. This is pretty obvious.

Others in this thread are looking at it like this: The plane is completely stationary relative to the ground. The treadmill is moving at 150 mph backwards and the plane is only throttled up enough to keep the plane in the same position relative to the ground. Thus, no air speed (and no lift) is generated.

Bottom line is that we'll have to wait until the episode to see EXACTLY what they are trying to prove here.
