Will the Clarion EQS746 help my system?

Will the Clarion EQS746 be a good addition to my system or would it be a waste of cash? I'm tryen to get all the pieces I need together. I searched and read up on both, but didn't find a comparison between the two in the eq/crossover feature wise. I saw some stuff about slopes and curves, but don't know what that means. The DEH-690UB has a built in eq & crossover but I don't know how good they are. The clarion also has the eq & crossover feature. Would it be better to run the eq & crossover on the deck, on the clarion, or on both? Would the Clarion EQS746 help make my system sound better?

i have that same clarion and love it. but with the clarion you cant touch any settings on your deck. i used my front out on my pioneer to the clarion and then my f/r/s/ outs on the clarion to my crossover. in all my systems i always incorporate a eq. just the way i like it. some people dont like them some do. just try it out and see if you like it

So you're using your deck flat, eq to tune, then a separate crossover as well?

Isn't the crossover in the clarion eq any good, or do you just like to use a separate crossover?

Is there a benefit to using a separate crossover?
