Will the big 3 even help me

Ok so yea even without big bass beats or whatever just rpm variations for me make my headlights fluctuate along with my interior lights. My amp can be on without any music playing and I still have my headlights going all weird on the freeway.

So if I do the big 3 will it help the problem???

Also right now my negative battery terminal is a 4g wire going straight to the engine block. Is this normal??

its a 1965 mustang nothing is stock though and it was re-wired over a year ago

 
The big 3 will always help. Your lights may be going bad, or your alternator is going out. I would have it checked.

You should do 1/0 to the engine as well as the frame of the vehicle.

 
ok i read 15 pages of that thread and now pretty much understand it

so now my question is how in the world do i find out the amps my alternator puts out

if i get a 120a fuse should i be good because i know i have no HO amp

it wont help you, check your voltage at idle, and have your alt tested @ autozone.

the wire from alt+ to battery is 16awg and way too long. yes it will help.

when I did 4awg on my maverick I even got better performance.

I do not have slips, but I went from low 9 to upper 8's in the 1/8

why would it be 16ga?

no way its that small...

Your alternator is shot

haha uhhh

and my alternator isnt shot :/

if anything my battery is because it dies when i leave the accessory switch turned for more than 5 minutes.

it looses a charge pretty fast
