will subs wired at 0.5 ohm be okay on a 1 ohm stable amp?

Everyone says this but really its not gunna be a ton of difference... your gunna need electrical for both...
With 1/4 of the impedance, the subwoofers see 4x the output current (theoretically), which means 4x the power (voltage being constant). This doesn't take into account rise or amp efficiency, but it is still a huge difference nonetheless. (P.S. my sundown 2500s are currently strappped at 4 ohms and sound alright, but when I have them dropped to 1 ohm strapped, it is downright rediculous...). To the OP, I would not run your current amp at .5 ohms, it will likely go straight into protect.

dropping an amp to half does put a bigger strain on it... i know 1st hand.

and OP, if you have that rockford that already does the power you need at 2ohms, keep it and run it, those are nice amps
