Will stock nightshades handle 2400 rms each?

if you're going to spend that much money, you might as well get something extra beefy. there is nothing wrong with sending a speaker less than its rated power.
yeah I think I'm gonna. Just gonna save a bit more for the options I guess. I hate stinky shit, and don't want to always have to turn that shit down:p:

ohh yeah anyone got any good box specs that 2 15's would like. If I could I would like to just drop them in my hdc3 box which is 8 cubes tuned to 37.77 hz

I do not suggest the completely stock current model for 2400-watts RMS.

Next year we are updating the "stock" model and it will be built like most of the custom order drivers w/ long coil and cooling upgrade. The current "stock" model was optimized for the most output possible with 1500-watts RMS but we have found that customers prefer to put more power on them.

will it still get as loud as the original stock model at 1500 watts rms? or is it gona have to use more power to get just as loud?

yur sig says 2 3000d's?
I'm leaning toward the customs...

How big of a differance do you think the customs would be with 4500 ish goin to 2, over the stocks with 3000?

Looking for a daily 150 and trailblazers aren't that easy to get loud. Thinkin these nightshades would be better for me over th nighshades
not true.

my friend in his envoy is hitting a 148.8 at 38hz. so with alittle more work he can hit 150.

No free lunches. The short coil is a bit louder at a given power level, but simply won't handle the power that the longer coil does.

The difference will really not be an audible one (less than a dB) - and of course, if you want to run 2500+ watts "daily" to it the short coil simply won't do it, and you will out-pace the SPL of the short coil by virtue of more power.

2 15's hitting 150's daily on music isn't going to easily happen. You'll have to push the subs too hard and for long listening periods shit will get stinky and fail.

Why not step up to 2 18's or 4 15's as cone area is your friend. You want to overbuild: meaning lots of cone area and plenty of power, so you're not running on the ragged edge. Tis way different to burp then to play loud for long periods of time.

Sleepy is set up for daily. Plays low and sounds good. He can play all day long and does 148+ and "sounds" louder to the ear. It hurts to sit in his car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I just thru 4 15's in a wall in my Altima. Box is way too small and on 1500 per sub I did a 149.7 and I could push the subs hard all day long on that kind of power in that small of an enclosure.

What does your current set up do on the TL? What's the loudest vehicle you've heard? I ask because the 2 I mentioned are fine for 2-3 minutes at a time, but no way in hell could you sit in them on full tilt for any real amount of time.

Cuz watts equals deebeez right?

Why the NEED for 2400 watts? If you can reach a Nightshades full potential with 1500 watts, what are you hoping to gain with another 900 watts?

Im baffled why so many people feel the need for so much power to so few speakers in a daily listener situation. Nobody listens to music at 150db's regularly anyway. Alot of people think they do, very few actually do.

Sure you would once in a while. But listening to music at 150 bumping down the road, regularly? I seriously doubt it. Everyone thinks they are tough and crazy like that, till they actually try it. The fun wears off real fast.

Im not sure many of you guys realize just how loud 150 on music really is. If you did listen to it regularly, your hearing would be destroyed very quickly.

no, hes right. its fun for like the first week, then after awhile your just like, wtf am i doing. this shits too loud.

no need for 150 daily. its fun to have, but listening to it everyday will catch up with you.

my gain knob stays under 1/4 for 90% of the music i listen too. a lot of songs im finding that i turn the gain all the way down and on top of that, turn down the SW levels on my HU.
