I at least got a break on that. Actually tho the value of the truck as is now I could still sell it and make even or maybe even a small amount on it without the system in it. No way would I lose out on 10g's in equipment. Charging system has already been upgraded so no worries there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Scanner should be in tonight or so and pics will be up shortly with any luck.
Well, I don't mean to bust your bubble, but I work in car sales...so let's see how good of a deal you really got:
First off, if you paid LIST plus $500, that means you paid $500 over MSRP. Maybe you meant you paid $500 over invoice. If that is what you think, let's see.
You said it was a limited so I am going to assume it is a 2wd Explorer Limited. And let's even assume you got the extra options :
Engine
4.6L 8 Cylinder 239 hp Gas
Transmission
Transmission, 5 Speed Electronically Controlled Automatic OD
Convenience
Locks, Power Door
Windows, Power
Window, Driver Side Express Down
Light, Rear Map/Reading
Cargo Cover
Retained Accessory Power
Interior
Console, Mini Overhead
Safety
Mirrors, Dual Power
Air Bags, Side Curtain
Exterior
Moonroof, Power
Running Boards
I'll bet you didn't get all those but EVEN IF you did get those, here is the price break down:
Charge Type: Invoice: MSRP:
Base Price $29,535.00 $32,545.00
Destination Charge $625.00 $625.00
Total Options $2,169.00 $2,555.00
Total* $32,329.00 $35,725.00
So you see, if you paid $34 for it, you didn't get that great of a deal, even if you got all those options. Now then, once you bought the vehicle, you now have a used vehicle and NO ONE is going to pay you the same or more than you paid for it. It depreciated the day you took it off the lot, at least 15%. Now that Ford just got hit with more recalls on tires, it's going to get even worse. Here is what your vehicle is worth now, and remember, no one pays book value, everyone wants to pay less than book.
Engine: V8 4.6 Liter
*****: Automatic
Drive: 2 Wheel Drive
Equipment
Limited
Air Conditioning
Rear Air
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo
Cassette
Compact Disc
Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-Wheel)
Leather
Power Seat
Sliding Sun Roof
Roof Rack
Privacy Glass
Retail Value $29,335
And no one is going to pay you even close to $10g extra for your equipment....a bank won't finance that much over allowance and there is only a very few people that want that much stuff. Upgrading your charging system is well and fine, but read the fine print on your warranty and you will see that it will not cover problems if you modify or change the stock charging system.
I am not trying to bust your bubble here....just trying to shed some light and maybe enlighten you on some facts. Don't hate me for education. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Peace...(yeah, right!)
