Will my Eclipse sub handle this?

I have the aluminum 8812 it handles 500w rms and 1000 peak. I am getting a Xtant x1001 which is 1000w at 2 ohms. If i drop it down to 2 ohms will my sub handle this power, or should i just keep it at 4 ohms and raise the gain up more?? I know these things are overbuilt... just want to make sure i dont go and fry this thing.

4 ohms gain set properly ( use the tutorial)

If you have to crank it full then run it in 2 ohms.

Again, gain set properly.

do you really want to put down on an xtant amp when you can get one that is just as good but cost way less

There are other cheaper and better alternatives.

your sub should handle it fine, as long its in a properly built box, it should be able to handle the power

im currently overpowering my eclipse 9152ti, and its doing great, but if something does happen there is always the "QCA"

i think yours might do the same

Ok, how would you have the option to run it at 2 or 4 ohms? You cant have either with one sub.

Ok, i am kinda new at this, i guess i read it all wrong, could you elaborate or send me in a direction to where i could read up on this more? I thought it was 4 ohms to 2 to 1, guess i was wrong...
