Will More RMS Make A Difference?

so i have rainbow cs 5 1/4s for front speakers. They are currently getting only 40 rms to them....now if i get an amp with say 75 rms will i hear a huge difference in the sound quality or just a differece period. and the speakers are loud enough for me wiht only 40 rms, so i dont need them louder. Thanks and if i were to get a new amp with 75 rms i would probably end up getting an alpine mrv 345.

i have eight 6.5"s in my boat and i just switched from a zapco 360.4 to a 1000.4 and it was a night and day difference. way more midbass. yes more power will make a huge difference. you do realize that is almost double the power right? 40 to 75. what kind of budget do you have to work with? oh and by the way i wouldnt hesitate putting 100-150 per side on the fronts.

about 250ish, i want a 4 channel amp though too to run my rears

it'll make a VERY noticeable difference. 40-75 is a pretty big jump.

its a big jump when u are talking about car speakers = aka highs or mids

i'd reccommend at least a 100wRMS per side amp to go along with those... You will definitely hear a difference in clarity and loudness.
