Will Double Baffle Block backflow of basket?

So i just recently picked up a Pair of Lightning Audio Storm X1.10.VC2. Call me crazy but i was looking at the setup on the sub and became concerned. If you double baffle your box, which you should with these subs. How in the world does this sub's cone breathe/vibrate the air in the box on the top opening. Having the double baffle would completely close of the top opening.

I don't mean to sound dumb in any way, so please feel free to clear this confusion up. and from my understanding the bottom opening is for the voice coil to breath?

yeah i wouldnt worry, the coil gets cooling from what i assume is a pole vent. if its that much of a deal breaker then just do a flush mount so there is only 1 layer of wood but you still get the strength from the added piece of wood for rigidity...

well the whole issue was i'm worried about the flow of air that would be restricted from top area that will be closed off from baffle boards. Not sure if i was unclear, if so sorry.

Anything to help create a better airflow will help. Subs are practically air pumps.

Get creative w/ the baffles and chamfering

Chamfer where the air flows, but not there the basket's spokes are, that's where the mounting holes usually are

my not just take a something and cut around where those vents are slightlu, or at least sand the wood inward around that part so it wouldn't close it off completely?

I would try the sub inverted and then normal to see if there are any audible differences. If it is noticeably louder inverted, then looks like you'll need to go with a single baffle. If you don't notice anything, then you're good to go.

I'd bet that if you were competing you'd pull a much higher number inverted. I've read how neo motors increase scores simply because they are so much smaller than ferrite and do not impede airflow as much, even when the neo magnet is relatively "equal" in strength.
