(4) 6.5" SUBS vs. (2) 8" SUBS

Vehicle is 2006 Ranger Reg. Cab. Budget isn't a big issue at this point. Looking to get the loudest possible without sacrificing low end or clean bass. Anyway--

If 6.5's are used I can fit ~1.5cf because they will be downfiring, while if 8's are used I can only fit ~1.2cf. Will be powered with Sae-1200D.

-8's I am considering Tru Bass Ultra, CSS Trio8. Not interested in SA-8 or 1508 because of depth, at least in this thread for the sake of debate. Open to suggestions of course

-6.5's I am considering TB 6.5, CSS SDX7. Not interested in DD6.5's because of power requirements. Open to suggestions of course

What scenario is going to get me the loudest, lowest, cleanest bass possible? I was just thinking about doing the usual (2) 8's, but I can get more cone area with (4) 6.5's. Ideas, suggestions?

EDIT: And just cause I know it will get suggested, no I cannot/don't want to fit a 10", and the same is the case with a shallow mount 12.

Fitting even a very shallow 10 while keeping the surround from hitting my seats would make me loose some leg room, and in a regular cab Ranger, there is already very little to give up, especially when you are 6'1 and not exactly skinny. I am keeping it in mind, but I want to keep this thread dedicated to 6.5's vs 8's

Shallow 12 is almost completely impossible for this reason also

Dayton HF8's or a pair of Image Dynamics ID8d2V3's. They only require .6 cubes a piece so you could fit them comfortably.
I considered the ID8's before I got my E8's but I just talked myself out of them because people said the output wasn't all that great. The Dayton doesn't look bad though

Output and SQ are both great. They are just as loud as my DC Level 4 15" D2 tuned at 32Hz. I have them in 1.7 cubes tuned at 34Hz on 500@2 on a Cadence Z1200 mono class D. The amp has .04% THD and a great damping factor.

I like the idea of 6.5's for the unique factor. I know it's considered "over-priced" here, but JL w3v3 comes in 6's and 8's. And I've had goodluck with them. If budget isn't an issue, I would throw them in the mix. Around 90-150ea new depending where you go.

WOW! Thats impressive. I will definitely look into them again and keep them in mind.

I was expecting a huge loss in output, but getting more SQ as well. I didnt think it would even compare, but I gained about another 2-3 cubic feet of trunk space back and I got the lows.
