Will a JL 500/1 drive a pair of 10" JL w6v2's?

What r u talking about, JL's power does not change at all. 1.5- 4 ohms, 10-14.5 volts. Power always stays at 500watts. R.I.P.S Very unique amps, 12w7 in H.O box hits 134 on the TL off of the 500/1.
they power output flexes with the ohm load that the amp sees. the lower the ohm, the more it backs the power off to avoid overheating. the deliver power, as long as you keep them at 4 ohms. but when you drop them to say 2 ohms, they wont put out as much. try it on a dmm with a 2 ohm load or a 4 ohm load if that is possible for you to do with your sub configuration. for those of you that have JL amps. you will be suprised.

We have tried it, the power actaully goes up at lower voltage, 13.2 volts the wattage was higher than at 14.3volts. Ohm load has no effect at all. Ive run both 4 8ohm drivers, and a single 2 ohm driver. Power was consistent throughout. Im yet to nuke one of these amps yet as well. Running a 1000/1 at wide open gain, with bass eq on, as well as full boost, 8 months and not a problem yet. I was quite suprised at the beating these things can take, i guess the price reflects it

dude, either way, four 8 ohm speakers and a single two ohm speaker is the same 2 ohm load. next time know what you are working with when you try to test it, and dont try to throw your invalid data at me.

as far as your setup, you should really have someone who knows what they are doing tweak it, because clearly you dont know what you are doing. they wont ever overheat or shut off because they limit their output to avoid that.

Im not trying to throw random numbers at you, we tested these amps many ways. Ive never seen a loss in power. Another question, how are you running 500/1's for your high's, its not a full range amplifier???

thats a typo, my sig got all messed up the other day, my highs amp is a 300/2. all this testing came from my experiences and the big JL dealer in my area. also, my zapco dealer who hates my amps showed me just to make his point.

I see, ive seen a couple systems that say they are running 500/1's for high's but i was like wtf. As far as the JL amp thing, i dont believe it, especially coming from a zapco dealer, majority of amp companies dont like JL, because its such a good product.

that was coming from a JL dealer. i was testing with them. then my zapco dealer and i did some testing as well. it just confirmed my testing with the JL dealer. a zapco dealer doesnt have to bash JL. JL is definitly in the top 10%, but they dont stack up to the upper end zapcos.

my zapco dealer actually wants to try both of my 500/1's on my highs/mids to experiment with how they sound. i think i will run it like that regardless, because i am getting my 1100.1 ref probably either tomarrow or after the 1st.

hmmmm, i dunno, maybe its a good question for a JL rep. How can you run 500/1's to mids an tweets. Its not a full range amp???. The only Class D monoblock ive ever seen that can is the xtant 1.1's

the zapco c2k 9.0 is a full range class d. it isnt a mono block though. my dealer uses them in boats to power all the highs/mids.
