Ditch the "5 farad cap". Either get good maxwell caps or don't use capacitors.

One good alternator is plenty. A lot can be said for a battery bank. With the same alternator, but more batteries, I got less voltage drop with a DD M4a than a Banda 7k.

here's the part number for the passenger side firewall tray 15246518($34 from dealer, i wouldnt pay more), similar to the picture i posted. most 99-03 GM trucks have the battery in front of the fuses, they moved it over to the pass firewall in 03, and then the aux battery for 03 and newer trucks goes in front of the fuse box.

Yes the parts where swapped out when the local shop built the alternator. It is a reputable local company. I'm going to take some readings with a voltmeter and post back. Thx for everyone's help.
