Will 4awg work for 160a max draw?

Will 4 AWG wire work to power my Orion 1200D [120a max], and Orion 4002 [40a max]? My big "3" will be done in 1/0, But i was hoping i could save some money on a run of 1/0 and use the 4awg thats already in the car.

Will it be suficient?

I believe 4 awg is rate @ 132 amps max. So I dont think 4 awg will be big enough. You could always run another run of 4 awg if you don't plan on upgrading. I started with 4 awg, added another, the added a run of 8 awg. I just added wire as I needed it, but Its better to run 1/0 awg the first time if you plan to upgrade.

I say it really depends on the length of the run. You can get by with it if your using some really good 4ga, but don't cheap out on it....and really good 4ga is going to be the same $$ as some cheaper 0ga, so might as well do the 0.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Verry Carefully. Nah just kidding. They are short lengths plus my stock 8 awg alt wires for my big 3. Probably get more power out of my alt if I run another 4 awg, but its working fine. I will get to it when I get a chance.

Not a chance. 4 ga wire can only handle a load like that if the run is less than 4' long. You definitely need to upgrade to 0/1 ga wire.

Gains should be low, Because i should have 7v pre-outs.

Dman, It isnt an issue of not having paypal, Its just that i dont wanna ask my sister to use her creditcard info to sign up to a sight, to check how much shipping is, If im not gonna order from them. Yes, I am over 18.
