Let me restate my position...
Will a short piece of 4 ga to an efficient 2200w amp "work"?
Probably. IF you're listening to MUSIC, and listening at moderate levels. Under those conditions the current draw should be within the limits of 4 ga.
HOWEVER - an amp capable of 175-200A of current draw during high volume test tone burps most definitely would be capable of heating up 4 ga wire, and you WOULD be risking a fire. Fuse at 125A and you should be safe, but this is an amp worth more than 1/2 as much as my car. Why would you go cheap on a 2' piece of wire?
