Whyd my subs burn up?

I have 2 kicker 12" 4ohm L7's powered by a viper 1200.1d amp wired to 1ohm... my gain was set at like half way... whyd my subs coils burn up?

but why? tell me what i did to make them burn up so when i get my new ones in they dont do the same thing?
