Why won't my radio make sound?

I have an aftermarket radio and amp in my truck. Everything was working fine but I had to move my power cord that went to my amp. When I did it touched my truck. It sparked. It blew the fuse in the cord and I replaced it. Bit now my radio won't work. It come on and lights up but no sound comes out. If I plug and unplug the radio several times it will eventually come on but as soon as I turn the truck off and back on it it doesn't work again. What is the problem?

Check the fuse on the radio should be the issue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. If not then check all the wiring. If problem persists check cars electrical outputs to radio with dmm.

Well if the radio fuse was the issue the radio wouldn't turn on period, this is turning on but no audio.

What kind of radio is it? A lot of radio's have a protect mode that doesn't have any notification; i.e., Pioneers shut off their internal amplifiers and preouts if there is a short in any of the speaker outputs or RCA outputs.

Get a DMM and verify where the issue is coming from: either no voltage from the RCAs going into the amplifier, or no output from the amplifier (both are vAC and will increase and decrease with volume).
