Ive noticed that the sundown monoblocks are by far the most popular quality amps on this site. I got a price from ssa store-$525 for a 1500, thats 1500w at 1ohm at 14.4v. I have a DD M1c that Im really happy with I got it for $435 and at 14.4v its rated at 1700w, 12v=1200w. Also it has a clip indicator on the remote that is very accurate.

I never have heard anything about the M1c on this site, so I wondering what makes the Sundowns so popular?

Not saying anything bad about them just wondering why they are so popular.

Does your DD M1c have a 2 year transferable warranty provided it was purchased from an authorized dealer? How about a 5 year discounted replacement guarantee? Sundown amplifiers have both of those and I think that is worth paying a $90 premium over the DD M1c.

DD builds amazing stuff, I'm definitely a fan. So does Sundown, Sundown comes with a lot of perks, not the least of which is a great owner who is active here and offers superior customer service and stands behind his products.

It's all about what you prefer mang.

jacob actually talks with us on a regular basis and you can find him bouncing around on the various forums, .. I honestly have never talked/seen a DD person on many of these forums doing that. So.. in short, that in itself is saying something to me about who you're dealing with on a personal level.

Besides that, I have owned a lot of DD, expensive.. but a lot more of sundown, protos rarities etc.. and i'd take the sundown anyday over the DD just because of my experience with it.

I don't hug any company nuts saying that either, i'm not using the two in my current/next setup at all.

I love to hug nuts, and from what I hear DD support is next to non-existent. Again, this is just what I've heard, don't know first hand.

I called them once about the 99 quad stack protos I had, they couldn't find any info for them at all, I actually ended up telling them more about them than they knew.. had flux issues on high power.. etc etc.. I ended up selling them on ebay. Only 10 of them were made anyhow, but still kinda wtf on them not knowing their own stuff.

Only thing I dislike about sundown is.. I miss the OLD sae-1000d and wish I could get one or 100.. lol

I bet the sundown will make rated power at 12 volts and closer to 2k at 14.4 yes dd comes with a 1 year warranty but new owner doesn't get that with sundown its a year longer warranty plus to help keep the resale value up the warranty con be transferred that ain't happening with dd.

This is typical of what I've heard about DD support.

I wouldn't start making bets about who makes more power at how many volts... other than that valid points. Both companies make bad *** amps.
