Yes - the amp should run just fine presented with an 8 Ohm load ~ would be giving approximately half of the amp's rated 4 Ohm output.
Can I ask why you went from a 15" D9 to a 12" Type R just out of curiosity?
aaa u beat meeeee

could it be the fact that he has 2 volt pre-outs? i think i've been spoiled with my 8 volts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I just realized this. If its set at .2, then the gain is all the way UP, meaning maxed out...oh yeah, and the amp went into protect twice when we were testing it out... the input sensitivity was all the way down (.2 v)... is this a problem?
You set the gain where it needs to be. Set the volume to normal listening, turn the gain up till it starts to clip, then turn it down a 1/4 turn (thats just a rough tutorial for setting the gains properly).i thought you matched that to your headunit's preouts power?even at the other end (9 volts) it was VERY quiet
ok, it didn't sound like it was clipping at all even when it was all the way up, and volume where the speakers clipYou set the gain where it needs to be. It could just be the box. How much port area does the box have?
yeah i think we are going to do that tomorrow... we ran out of energy today (5 hours in the 100+ degree texas heat sucks)try UR amp on his car, and his sub on ur car, see if the amp or driver is fuc*ed!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
