Why is tisel wire used for speakers instead of coper wire?

I just have a question about tisel wire. why is it used instead of nice speaker wire you would think that speaker wire would work better in some aplications. its just a question i was asked by a friend and i could not give him a good answer as to why.

Wiggling a piece of normal copper wire back and forth will break the strands. Tinsel leads are immune to this.

Ok that sounds reasonable to me copper does not like to move like that for an extensive amount of time. Thanks for answering my question
