i used to have a pioneer 4800mp and was ok... had some hiss form the inside speakers that were ran off the deck. Now i got a new pioneed 2900mp and while i know is a downgrade i only lost 1 RCA. all the other feature are there and it sound cleaner, but less loud. btw... i got also a pioneer 3200t amp and pioneer ts w251r sub. no noise as some said, but too **** boomie...

so why do they ****?

I love pioneer cd players.. always ran them and now a dealer for them.. wouldn't trade mine for anything.. always great features, graphics (higher models), nice preouts.. always sound great IMO .. and user friendly FTW.. there is always something better out there, but for the price range its almost unbeatable in my book..

that is why i went with pioneer... anyone else?

I know I am going to be falling into this category, but why is it the same handful of people are posting right now? Where are the ca vets to answer questions. Not to say that none of you are capable, I just want to see their input.

Not gonna say they arn't but some people lurk more than posting. Given I am very guilty of lurking, but I guess I am just looking for those that tend to have posts in the 10s or thousands. You know? Anyways, back on topic. I personally like Pioneer's CD players, especially the higher models and if I had the dough would pick up one ASAP. Because they are definitely a good buy for the price.

Im not a "vet" post wise.. but I also don't make stupid posts in the nonsense thread as some of the 10k+ posters do..

I believe I am well knowledged, and being as I am a dealer for pioneer, I feel I understand the brand pretty well, and shouldn't matter whether the people replying to your post have 10 posts or 10K posts..

Good luck now buddy!

Andrew

I don't like them because of the cheap made knobs that break off when you adjust them...or the numerous RCA problems where they get noise and stuff to the amps...plus the amplifier chip blows easily:(
Never had a knob break off, never had any grounding issues.. Could care less about deck power, I use amps:cool:

Nothing wrong with Pioneer at all. You will just hear more about the problems then when people don't have problems. The main problem you hear is about the rca pre-out noise which is related to the PICO fuse issue. Other than one flaw which is generally user error they make a good product.

I prefer other brands but becuase I feel they make a little better qaulity product and do not like screen graphics. I like clean styling but we all have out preference.

The P9 combo is awsome and the 880PRS is a good bang for the buck.

We all just have a brand preference. I prefer some of the Eclipse, Clarion and Alpine products more than the Pioneer. If I could afford it I would have a Denon in the dash.
