Why is CA.com the best

Assuming CA.com is here, I have gotten alot of help here as a noob.

I've been to a few other car audio forums. Not sure of the other ones listed, but many others are unhelpful, or at lest not as helpful as here. It seems like there are many more active users willing to help here. Good non hostile environment for noobs like me. Nobody criticizes you for being ignorant to some of the more advanced techniques. To put it in perspective, I did my first build this winter. Pretty much knowing nothing other than how to wire everything up. Actually was such a novice I blew up my first speaker with boasters.

I have yet to feel uncomfortable posting here, or asking "stupid" questions. I don't know the questions are stupid until I get pointed in the right direction. When I go a reread the thread I'm like wow, what a dumb question. And that was only asked 2 days ago!!!

You listen and try to read and understand. The ones that don't get the whip. We are more hostile to each other than a newb that's trying to get it.

CA is active, but some of the actual car audio advice given here is terrible. Currently has the best off topic section though.

CACO is good for the classifieds, nothing more.

DIYMA is a strange place, there is a lot of good SQ information but there is also a lot of snake oil around there.

MAF is by far my favorite as it used to have a great off topic section, better rules, and more knowledgeable posts. But activity is really low now. If MAF were as active as some of the other sites I believe it would be the best. The off-topic section only appears for members so a lot of people who don't sign up miss out on it.

MAF started a lot later, when most people started using Facebook instead or already had established home forums.

Activity dropped off a bit when West (owner) stopped coming around as much, but the rest of the admins still are active.

they had 75N shut down today in georgetown kentucky. 3 car wreck. one was a 40ish ford coupe, bright red hot rod, completely crushed on both ends. casualties. glad i was headed south bound.
