Gotta love dealerships! HA

So. My lady wasn't much liking the way her 2011 Kia Soul was driving. She had problems from the moment she bought it, horn didn't work and had a noisy strut, mechanics said they couldn't recreate the problem. Owed roughly 16k on it, so a trade in didn't seem possible. We took it to Lujacks, the dealership she bought it from, and they offered he a full trade in for a 2014 Kia Soul. GREAT DEAL RIGHT? No, because the incompetence of their employees messed the whole deal up, sorta, I'm not giving up without a fight, even if it turns into a legal fight.

They didn't have all the keys, so they had to contact the old owner. The owner brought back the keys, when she went to pick it up they told her that the sales lady put in the car payoff at 15.1k not 16k and said she had to pay the $900 difference. Um, no, **** you, just because your employee didn't fill the paper work out right doesn't mean I have to pay the penalty. My solution is to take $900 out of that employees paycheck for incompetence and then be fired. The stupid ***** didn't know anything about the cars she was selling other than they were fancy. She couldn't answer my questions (researched the car and needed some clarification on certain things.)

My old sales guy who was great was no longer there because he said he didn't agree with the direction the were going... I can agree. It seems trying to rip people off is in their mantra. Go ahead and check their BBB complaints. They are only a C- company and I will never do business with them again. I really very much like Kia, and it unfortunate they my old deal is no longer a Kia dealer. But I will now be crossing the river for my Kia needs.

Another Note:

She heard me when I drove up and though a selling point was that you can put a system in these cars //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rotflol.gif.b453361716769b8110ddefc85ff03cd2.gif Didn't know you couldn't put a system is all cars. I can see Hybrids and Electrics being a nono. But not your standard everyday car. I'm just being a **** now cause I'm pissed.

That's why you buy vehicles cheap at auction. Got both of mine that way and they're still going strong
I buy brand new on average of 2 years. Only bought 2 vehicles. A new '12 Cruze, and a New '14 Optima. I pay large amounts a month to my loan just to pay it off quickly. I like having a car nobody has ever driven (other than test drives). It bugs me when I see a scratch that I didn't put on it. I also don't drive a whole lot of miles. Had my Optima for a year, only at 12k miles. I also don't have access to the vehicle actions around here. You need a permit, so dealers and IDK who else get exclusive rights to auction vehicles, or so I'm told.

The lady on the other hand had a budget, so new wasn't an option. But she'll be making more than me in about... IDK 6-7 months. You see. She is a hair stylist, and they only make 35ish salary, but tons and tons of tips. She already got a job at a high profile salon, salon luca. The person she knows that works there makes on average 1-2k a day behind the chair. Man, its not fare, I went to school for too long to not make more than a hair stylist. To her credit, she is very good at what she does and deserves it.

But this is the type of place that charges $30-40 a hair cut. High end place, I'd never go there lol.

1. when you buy a korean piece of crap expect it to be a piece of crap.2. Did you just call kia fancy?
Say what you want. No American Car company backs their products like the Koreans. Plus, Kia is much more fancy than any Chevy or Ford you'll find for the same price. On top of that 99% of new american car parts are foreign. So there is that, plus American cars have a way worse recall history, look at GM. Not against American cars, but 1 half dozen or another, all cars are made with most of the same parts. Your "American car" was pretty much just assembled here, and is not more American than a Toyota. I'll stick with 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, you keep your 30k, 60k if you extend it. I got 10 year 100k on all my warranties after extending them, no American car company will even come close.

I say buy used in decent condition and treat it well. Run it until it costs more to keep up than you initially paid. Then buy something else used.
Dealers get their cut
Thats what my parents do. I just don't like the feeling of used. I tried to spruce up my Cruze with some new tires to make it feel new again. It didn't work. That wasn't the reason why I got rid of it. After 30K(right outside of the standard B2B warranty) I started having problems all over the place. It was going to cost me thousands. But they gave me a decent trade so I traded it. The Optima was by far the nicest car for the price. Comps are the Malibu and the Fusion. Neither were as nice, drove as smooth, or were as roomy as the Optima. And they both cost a little more. I did get a demo Optima though, so it did have a whopping 100 miles.

I buy used GM vehicles after they depreciate a lot. Still great vehicles.

I would also agree that Kia is not fancy.

What Korea does make well is amplifiers.

I buy lots of my audio stuff used too, so i can avoid the hit of depreciation.

I pay $30 for a haircut //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Mine are $20

Thats a lot. I'm just sayin. It was something like $200/hour for color repair. IDK, that seems crazy to me. My hair cuts are free in the kitchen.

Have you been in a newer Kia? Post '12 when they got sought after designers from Audi or Jaguar? I can't remember which one. These aren't your parents Kias. Mine is a base model because it was a demo, so it isn't chalk full of bells and whistles. Still way more than I would have gotten from GM or Ford for the price, and its bigger than the comps with twice the warranty. I'll stick by Kia. Its the highest quality vehicle I've bought, had a 02 STS, a '12 Cruze, a '11 Soul that was still better than the Cruze and had double miles, the problem was with the dealer not the car. and now the '14 Soul which is even better. And GM has a ton of recalls (I had 3 in my 2 years), I don't think I'll ever consider them unless I'm getting a truck, and I'm not confident in them because they aren't confident in themselves. At least not like Kia is. If you think your car can last a long time, why not have the warranty comp to Kia? Oh yeah, because they aren't quality vehicles anymore.

The only thing an American car could do for me is give me premier parking at Deere. And I don't work there, so IDC. But to each their own. If ya don't think Kia is fancy, neither is Ford, Dodge, or Chevy, they come with less for more. But I'm okay with Kia not being fancy, compared to Cadillac, Lincoln, Benz, BMW, Audi. But if you compare to that of a Fusion or a Malibu, the Optima is far more fancy, and a smoother ride.

I can also point out similar parts off my car that GM uses //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif For example: I have a Valeo Alternator, which is a Denso company. You know what GM uses? Valeo or Denso. Thats just an example. I'm sure if I tore it apart, 95% or more of the parts would be used in American cars, 100% of the electrical components, with the exception of body panels. American cars aren't all that American, just sayin. Toyota is probably more American than GM at this point.

Not a fan of GM because I haven't had good experiences with them outside my '92 Bonneville, that car was a beast, I wish I still had it. Not too much Ford experience, only had a '89 Taurus and that was poop, but all the old Taurus' were poop. New once are NAF. I HATE the way new Dodges feel, I haven't even came close to considering one.

It's actually $17 but I tip heavily //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

It's a salon full of tatted women. Quality haircut, wash, and beard lined up. And an ice cold beer. I think it's a square deal.
