I dont know why you have your gain that high. If it was professionally installed things would not have blown up. I HIGHLY recommend doing it yourself or going someplace else if they think the install was fine. The place is no good. Whats your head unit and electrical system looking like?

Distortion normally happens in cheaper amps, you can hear it. This one is masked well but you are definitely clipping the hell out of them. I'd say figure out what you are doing wrong before you spend money on more speakers and keep blowing them over and over.

 
they did it right. i wanted it louder so i turned up the gains. sounds like i made a boo boo.

this is the first i am learning of the fact that a speaker can clip without real noticeable distortion.

it actually sounded amazing at the max gain levels.

i was tricked! :p
