Why don't you guys like RF?

I've seen a lot of posts and comments about you guys not liking RF products, what is it that they have, or why don't you like them? I used to have some HX2, and I thought they were pretty good, but i haven't compared it to the Brahma's and that subs, so please tell me what do RF products have that make you guys not to like them?

i used to have nothing but RF in my car until i realized how badly made their stuff really is with the exception of amps. i had subs that RF made ranging from HE's to HX2's not the power HX2's but punch and still was very unimpressed with that. they used to make very good amps but at an expensive price, i have to say now they make decent amps at an expensive price.

Should I get rid of my Rockford 1000 power amps and get a pair of JBL 1200?

It seems like everyone has this amp for their system. Is it just because they're cheap or does JBL make really good amps?

I really like rockford amps...I wouldnt get rid of any rockford amps I had.!!

but yes, JBL does make a quite decent amp

naaahhhh................RF make good gear, right from teir subs and amps, through t their comps and processors..............................

anybody remember their EPX processor with 28 band EQ card and DSP - Wane Harris had maj input in designing it, I still have it boxed upstairs as when I tried o set it all up, it was the mos complcated thing I have ever done, and Im used to messing around with EQTs!!!!!!!!!! Not bad for an item made about 7 years ago!!!! Even now it can still what many processors are only doing now..............

RF is good, their aps for example are excellent, athough IMO their amps ae ging down a bit - not as underrated anymore fr example, they still cost loads too, but cmon, the bd1500.1 is just a monster...............can be pushed to 1 ohm for burps and stuff, a great great amp - I was empted to g for that as opposed to the Zapco, but needed that bit more power, like headroom you see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I think RF is just taking the shyt that comes along with mass producing products. they have had their recent reliability issues, and so far, i dont think they have topped the performance of their older subs and amps. . . you just have to know what RF products to stay away from, they arent all that bad

Personally I like RF products for two reasons. I have never had a problem with any of their products, currently I am running 2 HE2 12" subs (not the new models), a fanatic q 5.25" component set up front, and some 3-Way 6x9's in the back. Not to mention some wires and odds and ends. Ive been happy with everything i have, no problems. On a second note, I have gotten rockford equipment for dirt cheap from some hook ups I got and ebay and stuff. that is the only reason i would and have used RF stuff. when you get a pair of HE2 12"s like i can from work with 4 year service so i can blow them as many times as i can for 180 bucks for the pair including service and tax then yeah it's worth it. i used to use nothing but RF like stated before and i still have all RF wires and fuses and caps and distro blocks. that will only last another month tops until i get my DD 15"s in there b/c i'm getting all free wires and stuff from my buddy who is building my box. the 2001 line of RF products was the last line i would buy although i can get a 1000.1bd for like 375bucks so i might get one for my other car. hehe

i happen to like rf..i love there amps and subs..

i never heard of anyone i know, thats blown there subs.

its always becuz of wires, or volume master who blow them..

and i think there head units are easy too..

there like the only ones who make everything for your car.

well the reason i blow them or any of my friends at work do is b/c we can hehe. i ran a single HE2 on my bd1000.1 for about a day until it ripped apart just to see if they could handle it better than an HX2 and sure enough it did. also i ran a pair of HE 4 ohm subs on my 1000.1 that put out closer to 1200watts so i was giving them more rms power than the peak that they handle so that's why i blew them. i really didn't care b/c i knew we always had them in stock and i could just swap em out.

I've got a 12" HE2 runnin off a jbl 300 in my ranger and i love the bass im gettin from it...although it is the second one cuz i blew my first one due to poor wiring the first time...but i like RF products or what ive heard from them so far.
