why does this piece of paper move so much?

Some people are just idiots, I'll let you guys decide who I agree with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think one, or both of you are scared. Just post it.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Why would I possibly be scared if I told him to post it 8x and he gave up and said it wasn't worth his while?

I'm not scared. The idea in question here, is PV Audios stupid idea, what you shouldn't tune your front speakers as low as 40Hz, if you're using a sub...
it has nothing to do with the design here, I'd post it, but there's no point, because I already know I'm right, and PV Audios lack of any kind of reasoning as to why not to do this, kinda proves this anyway. lol oh, apart from "your front speakers aren't meant to play that low" which isn't why they aren't meant to be tuned that low! lol
******* man, who the **** taught you to read? The entire time I've been saying that YES, they can play that low. NO, you shouldn't tune that low because that is where your subwoofer is going to be playing. The point is not whether they CAN play that low, which I've already said that they can, it's why you shouldn't tune that low, which is because you need accentuation in the midbass region, not the subbass region where your subwoofer can work easily. Again, why would you need accentuation in the subbass region when your subwoofer is designed to pick up those frequencies, and not those higher. Good lord man.

Again, read this: My hivi B3S can make a 30hz tone that I can hear. Will there be ANY output that there should be? No, but the frequency response of the woofer says it can pick it up. That isn't what this is about. What this is about is why the hell you would ever tune your mains to 40hz when they don't need to boost the output in that range when it's your subwoofer that is going to need to boost the output. You want to increase your output in the area where your subwoofer is going to have trouble blending, and where your mains are going to start dropping off, which is usually in the midbass region. As I've said countless times. Again, I will ask you to post it at diyaudio.com, but there is no point in me posting it there since it isn't my design in question.

13 years ago my buddy said come listen to my new speakers, they were towers, we listend for 10 minuets and i figured there was a 10" passive somewhere in there or an 8" ,

when he pulled the cover off it was a 3.5 inch driver?

playing 30 hz with authority.

small speakers can get low in the right design.

but some people are just diks,

you know who you are.

I don't see how that applies to this argument?

.....First of all, this is completely irrelevant. Second, this never happened unless it was a horn, or some outlandish untraditional enclosure. Assuming you even knew it was playing 30hz, which is highly unlikely.

The simple facts that he thinks the enclosure works the same as filter circuitry, that placing another woofer on top of the enclosure is fine simply because he can't fit it on the front, and most importantly, that he doesn't realize that air moves out of a port when a speaker is moving all show volumes for his credibility in a home audio argument.

Oh I have my answer. Both of you are scared.

/thread.

Devillian, I have been in DBB position more than anyone else on this forum, and you know that. I've met with the most criticism of anyone on here since I arrived. Think about what I'm saying here, although I really couldn't care less if you think I'm scared. It is not my job to prove him wrong, as I've already done that, it's his job to prove himself right and have enough confidence in his work to stand up to the criticism. I don't need to do anything further, if he really believes his design works great and he want to keep his name (which you know I've had to do multiple times since 13-14 yrs old), then it's up to him to take the extra step, not me.

you might notice when someone attacks or insults me i dont typically respond, this is because i am confident, and dont feel the need to defend myself. if you are confident you can retire from any arguement and let others build stuff that you dont think will work.

Because it's entertaining and a good waste of time and studying, at least for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
