In his box plans list, the 2 @ 32 #3 is for what size woofer? I noticed that the fron baffle is only 12" high and I know that the OD on a 12" woofer is usually around 12.5." Or am I supposed to just make the front baffle bigger to suit my needs?

Check the dimensions again, but if they still aren't right, most 12" have a cutout of 11.something. It will fit, but you might have to screw into the endgrain; I don't suggest that, however.

thanx, I will probably just have to keep the ugly look of a dual box with only 1 sub in it for a while. I have been thinking about building a temp box, but I figured that it would be a waste of money.

What do i need to do to change that so that I am screwing the sub into the front baffle and not the endgrain? If the front baffle is only 12" and my sub has a OD of 12.5". I want to have the sub screwed into the front baffle and nothing else. Should I just make the baffle about an inch bigger and also the port wall?

That will change the tuning of the box. Tuning is derived from the size of the box vs. the size of the port. Change either and you alter the tuning. Change both and you'll change it even more. By adding an inch of height to the baffle you'll HAVE to add an inch of height to the side and the back therefore changing the net volume of the box and the port at the same time. How much will it change? I dunno. That requires math and math whoops my azz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

You might want to play around with the RE online box program. It will let you alter length and width and see the affects on tuning.

Edit: Have you thought about a double baffle? Put another piece of wood on the front that covers both the baffle and the end grain. Run a 3/8 roundover bit around the port and be done.

Yes, i have and it would be a lot easier that way, dunno why I didn't give it much thought but thanks. I also just bought a box building software, so I will fool around with it for a few days and take it from there.
