It's foam. Any foam surround will do that if its in the sun and not protected. It won't happen overnight.

Man, I don't know. RF makes better subs than JL. I had 2 Pro Series 18s ran off a jensen 400W amp. I had to replace the back windows at least twice. JL subs are still good though. Don't listen to all these haters. You gotta pay to play. Sundown? More like Burnup...

It's not the foam that is the real issue here. It's JL motors, they have so much force it turns surrounds into dust. Sigh
