Why does my W7 sound like Poo?

Yeah tell it to your deaf neighbor next door. Man you should be a comedian with shit like that. I would call george carlin up and see if he has any opening for new writers.
u havent been here long enough to talk shit..shut ur mouth!

iagrdshaka shut up ur not helping eaither

jesus im somewhat drunk still and i feel like helping for once!!! aaahh!!!!!

anyway

14.26 volts? is that input or output volts because ur output volts should be a hell of alot more...that box is sorta odly designed, but wutever floated the builders boat i guess, its not that uncommon to see a recessed port. from what he says in the auction the specs sound right, you could mesaure the port and use the calulators on the12volt.com(nevermind i just saw that they are down) to see if its really tuned to 30hz or not...covering the port might work too try that...you sound like you know some stuff so im doubting my voltage therory i just saw wut u said and thought id throw it up there

wow u just put JL in the Topic and a whole bunch of retards come post off topic stuff...

But IMO the dub 7s have sounded better sealed in the 3 applications that I have worked with. They are quite musical and it seemed that the sealed box helped it stay in line. This might be incorrect but to me it seemed as if the w7 was too heavy or sumthin to keep up with music in ported. Since sealed gives it suspension it helps it stay hitting quick. Just the way they sounded to MY ears tho.

I'd agree that you should run the 13w7 sealed for best musical accuracy, but then again I'd say that's true for the majority of the woofers on the market.

It's quite likely that box just isn't suited to your listening preference. Try covering up the port and see if you prefer the way that sounds. The box volume would be fine for sealed.

You have it passed too low; If your 6x9s are audible from 200Hz up, and your sub is passed at 80, you've got a big hole in the 'hearing range.' So all you're gettin' is mud. It's a w7 for cryin' out loud, pass that sucker up at 150, see how you like it.

Yes, I'm rude to my subwoofers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And BTW; Your amp probably isn't putting out the cleanest signal at .75 ohms. Just another thought. That 0.005%thd is at 4 ohms. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Add in any gain distortion, ..etc.

So if you move your filters, and that doesn't fix it; Before you go building another box, wire that for a higher impedance.

ok sorry i was away. its actually running at .9 ohms and after box rise it has to be way over 1 ohm. The voltage was the from the power to the ground. as for my settings i have the low pass on a 18 db slope at 80 hz. as for my gains i just put my hu on 30. it goes up to 40 and kept going till it sounded like it was being clipped. But even during that. It sounds liek garbage. So the gains are less then half. If i wire it to 3 ohms ill prob be getting less then 600 watts to it.....

It does look to be the box. The port end is what looks like to be within 2 inches of the port wall. The end of the port is to close. Take some pics of the inside of the box. I can diagnose the box problem from there. Some people belive if the end of the port, to the back wall is exactly the width. Then it counts the other wall as part of the length. This is incorrect and just restricts air flow and in turn can effect the sound/tunning.
