To me it sounds like you either have the gains too high or you need to lower your bass boost or turn the bass boost off.

Plus i don' tthink you can buy the box without the sub. i may be wrong. but when i called my local store to find out if i could buy the HO for my 2 12" w3's they told me it only came with the subs in the box.
