Why Does my Amp Keep blowing Fuses?

I got 2 hifonics goliath 15's....on a Directed 1100d @ 1ohm. I cant turn the amp volume up past 10-15%. Anything higher than that and the two 40 fuses in the Directed amp blow. i went through at least 15 packages of 5 40fuses since i've the setup...which has been a week now

BTW. My lights dimm like crazy when i try 2 turn the amp up too. they already dim a lot when the amps at 10-15%

are you serious?

I'm 99% sure you have the amp wired below rated impedence for it

THE SUBS ARE qaud 2 ohms....and i followed the wiring configuraions on the hifonics manual. i wired them to 1ohm....and even if i did wire them wrong the amp would stay in protect right...if it was below impedidance??

also i dont know how to set the gains but i have been trying to play with it....i've tried switching grounds....all that.

I have the BASS EQ(LPF) ALL THE WAY UP, THE SUBSONIC FREQUENCY (Hz) knob isn't even turned on. it's in the off position. but when i do turn it on and mess with it, it doesnt really sound any different. And Last but not Least THE MASTER GAIN I GOT IT ON PHASE 180. I GOT BOTH THE PHASE'S ON 180

no the amp won't always go into protection it depends on how the safety features are in the amp. the fuses blowing may be their way of saying something is wrong. you need to make sure all your wires are fine and that you do have the two subs wired in parallel seires parallel

x2 use a dmm and check your impedance. Almost guaranteed to be below 1ohm from the sounds of it.

i have a dmm reader just dont know how to use it....i dont think it works properly.

this might make sence you guys.....when i wired them and used the dmm reader it read 0.5ohms.....i think it may be 0.5 ohms but how.....WTF i followed all the

or could it be that the battery under my hood is too small?
