I'm probably one of those you will say is afraid of change. I still run Windows 2k pro. Personally I just see no reason at all to "upgrade." I have run into no limitations yet with 2k pro for what I do and it runs flawlessly for me I have yet to have a crash or system failure in my 4 or 5o years of running it (I was still using 98SE for a while after XP was released.) My laptop with XP home crashes all the time, luckily I don't do anything important on it so I just laugh when it crashes and then boots up with the retarded "send error report" messages usually saying something like "The system has just recovered from a fatal error" or something stupid.
Sadly I don't see too much more use for my 2k in the future and will be a sad day when I have to drop it. I got copies of XP Pro 32bit and 64bit laying around and have tried them on occasion but I just can't get past all the retarded popups and and messages that XP always feels it needs to send. Plus it just pisses me off having to be connected to the internet just for your fresh install of an OS to function beyond 30 days. Or have to call some number. I can reformat my machine with 2k start to finish in under an hour and it runs as good as brand new.
Sadly I guess in a year or so I will be "upgrading" to XP Pro lol, but until I see a reason I won't be upgrading just for the sake of change when what I got works good.
