Why does everyone hate VISTA?

you can have a faster & more stable computer w/less hardware, when running XP Pro/Lite..

rather than running vista that requires quite a bit more hardware..

it's more a pain in the *** to switch & get more hardware, but buying a computer that it comes on is okay, i guess.

this would be very true if best buy or some major brand that sells computers would put more than 512 MB SD ram in a PC. i have 1024 DDR and my PC is slowing down

meh. i guess.

i'll stick to pro w/lots of ram & good components. i'll wait for vista to get all the bugs worked out.

bugs? you mean just running slow or are their specific issues?

You either built your own system or reformatted after you bought it...never seen a proprietary machine boot up that fast with XP
the machine is an M50HT running 3 sata300's with all the extra SHITE removed from the os...previous post is not flexing, just giving a reference to compare vista too..i haven't been able to get vista to operate at the same speeds because the hardware requirements are too high!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The only thing I don't like is start up. Gobs of things open on start up. Once they are open, I like the inteface a lot. It did take a while to get used to the options, but no issues with it though. I have a 2.2GHz Centrino Duo with 3Gigs of RAM. I like it better than my older XP machine personally.

I have been running 64bit Vista for about a month now and love it.. I think the biggest issue is a lot of people are buying the PC's at BB or CC and getting Vista with a slew of shit installed you don't want and will probably never need.

I took a buddies laptop similar to OP's spec and it came with Vista installed along with about 10 other things no one needs. I formatted the drive and installed a straight retail copy without any extra junk and it made a pretty big difference.

The other issue is a lot of you are still expecting your 512MB-1GB of RAM to do what it did 2-3 years ago, time to upgrade guys you can get 4GB (what I am running) for

problem is, some machines may have 2 slots, but are limited to 1 or 2 gig
I know, I think you will start seeing a lot more 4GB support soon. Are there really any PC"s in the past 2-3 years that have not allowed at least 2GB?

I don't know because the last PC I bought before building this one was about 4 years ago which did indeed have 1GB limit.

I don't know what the buying fad is/was so i don't know what people have and/or are trying to upgrade
