Why do people like direct leads?

Push terminal you can barely fit a pair of 10 gauge in since most terminals are small as fk. Theres a good chance of wires falling out if you have really strong subs and cramped terminals. Direct soldered and heat shrunk leads is basically a permanent connection and safe and you can use 8 gauge or 4 gauge easily once you start getting into the big boy subs. Personally i love it way more since most push terminals are flimsy and several gauge sizes way too small and fitting wire in is a chore compared to the latter. Another benefit is, less path of resistance, its straight to the lead, does not need to go through a thin flimsy terminal.

I absolutely dislike push terminals on monster subs.

you're damn right, apparently someone decided small push terminals would be great on a 61 lb RE mt 15. Forced the wires in tight but ofcourse there's a huge mushroom

Yes, much easier to connect multiple wires, just splice and done.

Best electrical connection. The push terminals aren't great connections.

Direct leads look better and are easier to connect with larger wire.

It's higher quality in general

Well all the zv4s I've had didMy Sa 18s did

Nsv3 do

How do I get that smile face that licks his lips?
I'm surprised SA 18's do, but the E's don't iirc

As said above, resistance is the main difference. Push terminals being the worst, and wire-to-wire soldered connections being the best.

If you are talking about terminals on the enclosure for speaker wire, any terminal type simply adds another resistance point to the circuit that direct wiring from the speaker to the amp, through the enclosure wall, will not.

Push terminals are just another place for the connection to come loose. I hate push terminals, most barely fit 12awg and half the time the spring doesn't hold the wires tight enough for my liking. As far as amp to sub connection, I always use bolts.
